The only Island in the San Juan Islands that has 2 large fresh water lakes is Orcas Island. Among 200 year old cedars and towering doug firs, Cascade Lake glitters in the Summer sun. Today, a balmy 78 degrees which felt more like 85, embraced the swimmers, kayakers, wind surfers, canoers and hikers, making today one of the best of the season.
We’re looking for similar temperatures and sunshine this week as July warms up and the lake reaches near peak temps. The Lagoon felt warm, and I waded knee deep. Next time I’m bringing a suit!
We can celebrate, summer is finally here..
